Nodowa Throat Guard

The Nodowa is a neck protector which was tied around the back of the neck of the samurai, to provide extra protection to their throat and neck. It was considered auxiliary / optional armor worn by the samurai during feudal Japan, in addition to the standard 6 armor parts.

Our Samurai nodowa are crafted using 22 gauge iron and feature a cotton lace and cord to hold the neck protector securely. They are available in a variety of colors and are truly a work of art in themselve. The nodowa can fit under your existing menpo or looks great displayed by themselves, mounted on your wall or displayed on a mantel, restaurant, office, worn for decoration, re-enactment or part of costume.

Each piece is handmade and might be different from the picture posted. Traditionally handcrafted.
