DA401 - Odoshi Samurai Scaled Armour


This beautiful Odoshi (laced) Samurai Scaled Gusoku (suit of armour) was worn by high-ranking samurai during the Muromachi period of 1300-1400 century. Iron plates are crimped to simulate scales and then individually laced together, by hand taking over 20 hours. The Do (breastplate) is made ​​from 14 individual scaled plates of iron, each handwoven together with cotton lacing. The colored lacing gives the armour a beautiful vibrant; appearance. There is a lot of hand work in this armour.
The armour comes with a traditional box and stand for storage or display.
